Task 1
Produce some notes, including screenshots on where the dataset was found and why it was selected.

The operational issues slides need to explain how the Council keeps information secure. This should include backups, organisational policies, the Council’s continuance plan and the impact of increasing sophistication of systems on large organisations such as larger Councils.

Task 8 Prepare a poster entitled ‘Good Information’ to explain how the best information should be valid, reliable, timely, fit for purpose, accessible, cost-effective, accurate, relevant, have the right level of detail, be from a reliable source and understandable by the user.

Task 9

Prepare a brochure entitled ‘How to improve the quality of business information’ targeted at small businesses, explaining how to make the best of their information.

The brochure should include your TASK 1  POSTER as an image, together with sections to cover the following areas, explaining how an appreciation of each of the aspects of information can improve its quality:

·          Purposes of information
·          Sources of information

Task 10

Prepare a poster entitled ‘Using information’ to show how data is transformed into information by organisations. The poster needs to identify some ways that organisations use their information.

Task 11
Prepare a slide-show presentation entitled ‘Information Systems’ which can run as a continuous loop on road show computers. The presentation needs to have four sections:

a)     Features and functions of information systems, including what data is, who uses information systems, as well as the hardware, software and telecommunications use by these systems. Include slides about input, storage, processing, output, control/feedback loops, closed and open systems. (P4)
b)     Types of information systems – for a named organisation, including the management of information systems and other information systems, such as marketing, financial and human resources the organisation actually operates. (P5)
c)     Business functional areas – Including sales, purchasing, manufacturing, marketing, finance, personnel and administration. (M1)
